Hey there, I'm Sam Jay Heaton. A Leigh based web designer and developer with bags of experience when it comes to designing and developing websites. I've been fortunate enough to have worked with some incredible companies and individuals throughout Leigh.
I've been crunching code and designing things with my mouse since 2010, I work mainly with HTML, CSS, PHP, jQuery and MySQL along with the well known frameworks such as WordPress, Magento, OpenCart, Couch etc.
I pride myself on my work and portfolio, I've recently won web design awards for some of my work which is a major achievement and something I'd like to replicate again and again. I take web design seriously, I make sure each of the websites I design look as good on mobiles as they do on desktop devices ensuring a great user experience and effective design.

Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas
First of all we would like to thank all of our clients and partners we have worked with so far this year, you guys have been fantastic and you have allowed us as a design agency to grow. We wish you a very happy Christmas and New Year! It was a pleasure to have worked with you through 2015 and we are all looking forward to 2016.

London Online Clothing - Web Design
Here we have a clean and modern eCommerce web design for London Online Clothing, I worked closely with Maria who had previously had a website designed and developed however it was not performing as intended. Maria wanted to achieve a new direction for London Online Clothing, this is a great addition to my web design portfolio.
Working with Maria was great, she is now uploading her products to her new eCommerce website and once complete we will then begin the full SEO campaign.

Wonderful Year of Web Design
It has been a wonderful year, I have had the opportunity to work with some great companies and individuals from so many different industries with different requirements. This has allowed me to add to my portfolio significantly with many more web designs.

Today a bespoke roofing and cladding website design has gone live for J&B Contracts LTD, I enjoyed working with Dave and was shocked to find out he only lived a few doors up from me.
This bespoke website design is totally unique and designed around their provided brief, the website has been made editable using a custom Content Management System and it has been fully search engine optimised and submitted to all the leading search engines.

The Dressing Room Leigh - eCommerce Translation
I did not design the original The Dressing Room eCommerce website however I have hosted it and managed it for the past year or so, having recently spoke to Jim from The Dressing Room regarding the website and how we can take it forward we came up with the idea of targeting the French and German markets.
This means we needed to get the website translated first of all so we made some new contacts with some fantastic German and French translators who I am sure I will use again in the near future. Once the websites were translated we then put together a search engine optimisation plan which has been implemented and into action.
It was great working with Jim as ever and I look forward to working with him again in the near future.

I have been hard at work with two large projects which are both due for completion this week, I am looking forward to getting these two websites up and running and generating traffic.

A few major updates have been applied to the website of Vertigo Property Investment, I have worked with Russell from Vertigo on numerous occasions over the past few years and as always he is a pleasure to work with.

Update to Gifts4Gifts - Web Design Leigh
I have worked with Gifts4Gifts.com on a frequent basis over the past year or so and having recently sat down with Annette and put a plan together for Christmas we decided a slight re-design to the eCommerce web design would go a long way.
We have made the Gifts4Gifts website much easier to navigate in order to increase bounce rates and also to allow us to prioritise some of the featured and latest products.

Busy Week Designing Websites
Well I have been mostly working on existing websites making small changes to their existing web design. I am working closely with some previous clients perfecting their websites and updating them accordingly.
It is important for multiple reasons to update your website frequently as Google and the other leading search engines pick up on these updates and see the website as being active and in return helps you with your rankings.

Flushers - Bespoke Web Design
It is not often you have someone come and visit you all the way from Yorkshire because they really like the work you have done, Saul contacted me about a month ago regarding a website design for his new plumbing and drainage business.
We arranged a meeting and he came from Yorkshire to visit myself, together we put a few ideas together and a plan of attach in place. Solewish - eCommerce Web Design
A brand new re-design for Solewish, they wanted an eCommerce website designed and developed in Magento and my plan of attach was to keep things simple yet efficient. Solewish were specific in what they wanted and it was my job to follow their design but add a little twist to it.
The outcome is this bespoke Magento eCommerce web design that looks and functions perfect. Solewish will now begin adding their products to the website and over the next few weeks we will begin an aggressive SEO campaign.

This is the second web design I have designed for Paul of Drainage North West, originally he had a smaller site targeting the local areas but he has since spread his wings and decided to target the larger areas.

IcedGecko - Web Design Leigh
Another web design that has gone live this week, really glad to be able to add this modern one-page web design designed for IcedGecko of Bolton.
The web design is responsive which means it loads and renders correctly on all devices be them smartphones, tables or computers. The website was designed to showcase some of IcedGecko's work in a user friendly and clean way, I am really happy with the outcome of this web design.

Web Design Leigh
Well this post is just a quick update nithing spectacular to report on as of yet! Good news is I am currently working on a large project that is due for completion at some point next week along with a yoga website and another electronic cigarette website so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for more web design projects.
In addition to the above I have been making connections with a few companies both in the web design industry and other from outside the web design industry. I am currently helping start out a new media agency to which I will be an advisor in the long run and also I will receive work on a freelance basis both SEO and web design so exciting times are coming!

Vivos Cleaning - Web Design Leigh
Well here is a new web design and this time it is one with a slighly differant domain name! This is the first website I have launched with the new domain prefixes and I must say they do look trendy. This web design is a clean and simple cleaners website, the idea was to create a simple and straigh forward web design that is easy to navigate and also attractive!

This one has been a really long time coming but it has been worth it, it was great working with Matt Johnson a well known musician who also works as a wedding singer. He is a very specific individual but with great ideas and with great talent he needed these two things portraying on his website. 3 New Web Designs this Week
Well this week I have successfully launched three new web designs, two of which I have added to my portfolio today the other project will be added shortly as we are waiting for more products to be listed. The first of the new web designs is Araya Services, I worked closely with Paul and Sonya to make this web design standout and showcase their wonderful work. They were a breeze to work with and I look forward to working with them again in the near future.
The second web design is an ambitious idea from Dean, I have previously worked with Dean on a few projects including Platinum Hunters but this time round Dean wanted to achieve a simple yet fun way of searching for days out in your region. The outcome is this child friendly, modern web design that makes finding days out easy and fun.

It was great working with Andy on this web design, they had an existing Wix website that just wasn't doing the trick for them, Andy got in touch with me and they wanted something clean, simple and attractive which is what I do best. Finally! Centreco is here!
This project has been a long one coming, the outcome was worth the wait. I enjoyed working with the guys over at Centreco a Leigh based solar energy solution company, I worked closely with Tom and Adrian and through lots of trail and error we got there in the end! I am really happy with this website and I am delighted to be able to add it to my web design portfolio.

Busy Week - Lots of new web designs!
Well I have been mad busy this week with new web design projects and on-going SEO which has made my first week as a 22 year old tiresome but that is what comes with being a web designer.
I am close to completing and launching two new websites which are both similar web designs in terms of industry and layout but each unique in their own rights. As soon as they are complete I will report back and have them added to my portfolio.

Ladies Fascinators - eCommerce Leigh
This was a great eCommerce web design to work on, I worked closely with Steve who I have worked with in the past on other projects and we both had a clear mind on where we wanted this eCommerce web design to go. The outcome is this elegant website designed around his photography and branding.
I think Ladies Fascinators will become a well known name in the fascinator industry and I wish Steve and co all the best for the future and I can't wait to see what we can do with regards to AdWords and Search Engine Optimisation.

R.G Builders Leigh - Web Design Leigh
Here is a simple yet different design for a building and joinery company based in Leigh, they wanted a clean and easy to navigate website the outcome is this vibrant yet direct web design. I really really like this website, it is straight to the point and one that I think deserves a place on my web design portfolio.
Working with Rob from R.G Builders was a breeze and I look forward to working with R.G Builders again in the future, I am currently designing some leaflets for R.G Builders and I will be working with them on their search engine optimisation.

Hard at work as normal, really really looking forward to launching some of the best work I have done. I have been working hard on a few web design projects some for local Leigh business and others from afar but each web design is unique and classy.
I really enjoy working with the client, when good communication is there from both sides it makes the whole process much more refined and perfected. One of the best things about being a freelance web designer is that I get to meet some really awesome people, I get the chance to work with companies and organisations from around the United Kingdom.

Busy with Upcoming Projects
Well I am currently working on a few interesting projects two of which are soon to launch very soon, I am currently working on a web design that I really can't wait to get up and live and show the world wide web so keep you eyes peeled as it should be launching soon. I have a few ideas of my own, I have a few designs and ideas in my head that I will look to get up and running through the summer so fingers crossed I may have some more personal projects to show you soon.
Apart from the norm I have been working on my server and have upgraded it yet again this time I have increased its memory to ensure even faster hosting and increasing the resources for those bigger, hungrier websites.

Vape-Ace - eCommerce Web Design Leigh
I have been working with Andy for a long time on this eCommerce web design, we wanted to achieve a clean and modern design that would prioritise his wide range of products that range for electronic cigarettes to e-liquids. The outcome is this clean and modern eCommerce web design and one I am proud to be able to add to my ever expanding portfolio of clean, crisp and pixel perfect web designs.
Andy has his mind set on what he wanted to achieve from the get go and was a pleasure to work with, with his products and his branding now sorted the next step is to get him up on the search engines and getting some good quality hits and hopefully plenty of sales. DirtBikeSpec - eCommerce Web Design Leigh
Well this one has been a long time coming but one I am glad to finally be able to add to my portfolio, I worked closely with Paul and Lisa on this website to achieve a modern looking eCommerce website.
This web design is a little different as the design is clean yet robust and ridged which gives the whole browsing experience a bit of a twist. Leigh Kebab - Social Platform for Leigh
Well this is something I have done as a side project, this is something I have wanted to do for a long time. I wanted to combine my web developing skills with my web design skills and create a unique social media platform designed for the Leigh area.

Gifts4Gifts - eCommerce Web Design Leigh
Finally happy to announce that the newly re-designed Gifts4Gifts website has relaunched with a brand new design and loads of new features. Gifts4Gifts has a website designed last year by a web design agency in Leigh but after months of hosting issues and the website not being what they wanted they decided to look for a new company to host their website, Annette from Gifts4Gifts then contacted me just before Christmas and we met up and we discussed their website. We both had ideas on how to improve the website and both decided the best solution is an entirely brand new eCommerce website.
We then worked closely to make sure the website was this time exactly what Gifts4Gifts wanted, the website has personalised items that have specific options that are easily added to listings and connect directly with their suppliers to ensure a smooth and hassle free experience not only for the team at Gifts4Gifts but for the end user.

Update on new projects!
I am hard at work on some great new projects, I am working closely with a local company that are selling motocross, enduro and trials tyres. This is a website that has a robust feel to it. I can't wait to get this website up and running. I am also working on a website for the guys over at Uniquely-U, we have been in contact since late last year and now we are all working together to get the right website, it was a weird feeling seeing their shop with the massive logo I had designed I don't think I have ever been so amazed!
I am working with previous clients also on new projects, I have something very interesting as a personal project in the pipeline and something I hope can make a small change to the world wide web. Raven Facility
Today a new website has been launched for a client based in Leigh, I am extremely happy to be able to add the brand new Raven Facility website. I worked closely with Stuart as he gave me a clear idea of what he wanted to achieve but at the same time gave me creative freedom. The outcome is this modern, clean and professional web design.
The Raven Facility website was designed and developed with the intention of making itself standout amongst the competition. I am looking forward to working with Stuart and Raven Facility as they progress and as their website progresses.

Ovivio Mobile
I have been a client of O2's for the past 4 years and overall I was not satisfied with their service both in terms of price and overall support so I decided to look into an alternative network provider.
That is when I came across Ovivo Mobile who offered a SIM card that gives you 500 minutes, 500 text and 1000mb of data which is not a bad package and suited me and my web design business, the really cool part is that the SIM card does not have a monthly charge meaning every month I receive 500 minutes, 500 text and 1000mb of data for free. It sounded to good to be true but I decided to order the SIM card which was a one off fee of £20 and they take £5 for postage and the other £15 is added to the card as credit.
A few days later I received the SIM and to my amazement it worked with no issues on my Google Nexus 5 so I decided to bring over my O2 number which Ovivo Mobile gladly did all this for me. So I now have an amazing contract SIM where I don't pay a thing! The service is always great and having 1000mb of data means I can easily load up web pages when I am out and I can even tether my phone so it shares it service with my laptop so I can make any changes to websites or check services even when I am out and travelling.

Hosting Upgrade
Today I have upgraded to my own dedicated server which means I have more control over the websites I host and that an overall improvement will be noticeable in terms of performance on all the websites I host. This will not affect any current clients with any of the services I have provided.
This is very exciting for me as it allows me to do a lot more, I have more control over the hosting I offer so you can expect a lot more of packages I will be able to offer. I can't wait to fill up my server with some beautiful web designs now!

I have been really busy this year and it has been great, I have been working with some truly interesting businesses and industries, I have made some great friends and met some inspirational people. I love updating my web design portfolio and I am always designing great websites for both clients and for my portfolio.
With every design I like to push the boundaries of what is considered web design by simplifying complex websites. I hate nothing more than landing on a website that has over complicated navigation and functions. Once I understand the clients requirements I then start to design a website in my head, I take into consideration their industry and their clients and design a simplistic, beautiful website around that. By using analytical tools it allows me to monitor websites and see exactly what visitors are doing when they visit websites, this gives me an overview of what steps they take, how they navigate and what exactly do from their I work with my clients to perfect not only their content but their navigation and functions on their website.

Quick Update
Hey guys! I have had a few good meetings over the past couple of days which have been very productive. Looking forward to starting on some really interesting websites over the next couple of days. I am also close to completing a few web designs that will be great additions to my web design portfolio so be sure to keep checking back for updates.
Well as you are aware if you read my last post my domain is now 1 year old which is great and I have had a few compliments which are always appreciated. I have recently upgraded my server which will not effect any existing customers as I have simply upgraded the specifications on the machine that hosts the websites. Well today is the official day in which my domain name www.samjayheaton.com turns 1 year old, this website originally started as a portfolio so that I could showcase some of my web design work but it quickly grew into fully fledged website that now ranks high on Google and other search engines on the world wide web, I have won web design awards and met some truly awesome people.
1 year is a short period of time so I can't wait to see what the next year will bring or even what the next 10 years will bring, I thank everyone that I have worked with and I look forward to meeting more awesome people and businesses.

Quick Update - Sam Jay Heaton - Web Design Leigh
Hello guys, as some of you may know I have been working less hours this past week as my dad has been in hospital expecting surgery which I am happy to announce that today he had his surgery and is on his way to recovery! I will be with him over the next day or so and hopefully he will be discharged soon.
I will be resuming the normal flow of work from Friday, this was just a quick update as for me announcing my dad is OK is just as important as launching a new website! So onto some more good news I have been working with two really interesting companies who want two awesome web designs. One of the companies has been let down dramatically by a local web design company in Leigh and had a real bad time so it is my job to get them where they need to be with a brand new eCommerce website and upon completion we will be working together to get them up the search engines and getting some sales.
The other project is for a very talented singer, I cant wait to get his website up as it is looking awesome and one I cant wait to add to my portfolio. As always I will keep you posted with any updates and thanks for everyone of my clients that send their wishes to my dad it meant a lot, Thank you!

New Web Design - Vertigo Investments
Really happy to add a new web design to my portfolio, this website was a great project and it was great working with Russell from Vertigo Investments. We worked together to ensure a clean and professional website.
With a full content management system this website is a fully working property listing website. We added the properties to the website and each one has unique data, videos and map information. This is a good web design to add to my portfolio and one that I am really glad to have worked on. I wish Russell and Vertigo Investments all the best of luck with their new website but also I look forward to working with them again in the near future.

New Projects and Additions
Been really busy since the start of the year and I have been steadily adding to my portfolio of web designs, I will be adding two or three over the next couple of days and in particular I can't wait to add a special little project I have been working on so keep your eyes peeled.

Officially Web Design Leigh for 2 years!
Well it has been two years exactly to this day that I designed my first freelance website. A lot has changed in the web design game some things have advanced dramatically and others have just faded away. As time has gone on I have been able to build a skill set of techniques and knowledge which in return has allowed me to do things with web design and search engine optimisation that was not possible 2 years ago.
I enjoy designing and developing websites but the one thing I enjoy most is a successful website for my clients, I love to hear feedback, I love working with them and I cant wait to see who I will meet over the next 2 years.

New additions to portfolio and update
I have added a few more awesome web designs to my portfolio today including the brand new Redblade Mowers website which is a stunning new website and one I am really proud of. I have also added SweetPea Preloved Clothes a gorgeous eCommerce website with a friendly, family design to it and another website I am proud to add to my portfolio.
I am keeping really busy this year and designing more and more websites so I can't wait until next year when I will have even more web designs for my portfolio.

Goldseal Windows - First of the New Year
Well I have the first addition to my portfolio website of 2014 and one I am really happy with, I have been working closely with Rob from Goldseal Windows since before Christmas and we have finally got their new website up and running and one I am really happy with.
The next steps for this web design are to get to work with the search engine optimisation, I have submitted the website to the search engines and I am now building up the page rank so hopefully they will be leading the search engines in Leigh.

Quick Update
Hey guys, I hope you are all enjoying the holidays and looking forward to the new year. I am back in front of the computer over the next day or so and I will be returning as normal from the 2nd of January. New Website and Marry Christmas
Ho ho ho! and welcome to my brand new website, if you have visited my website in the past you may notice a rather dramatic difference. I wanted to have a website that was more creative, a website where I could showcase my work and web designs.
I have further plans for this website and I tend to be adding a timeline rather similar to what I previously had and also a more attractive blog sections.

Iron Out and Update
I have added another website to my portfolio today, this time a website for a ironer in Leigh, they required a clean and simple website that was striking yet got straight to the point. The outcome is a very simplistic and modern web design.
This is another great website to add to my portfolio and one I am happy to have worked on, it was something a little different and at times hard to get inspiration as all the competition have really bad looking websites, but we got there in the end and the website is awesome if I don't say so myself. Nearly Christmas
Well its nearly that time of the year again, its very nearly Christmas! As we approach Christmas I am finishing off a few websites so hopefully I will be adding them to my portfolio. I have recently been working on several projects both large and small and hopefully I will have them on my portfolio over the next couple of days.
I have just finished designing a few logo's for a client and I am really happy with the outcome and the client is spoilt for choice which is always a good thing so hopefully the website will be that good! I have previously said I am working on a personal web project which is making steady progress but I am a little far off completion. Hopefully as the new year roles in I will be able to spend any free time I have on that project so be sure to check back in the new year.

Oxfordshire Cleaning Company
Just finished and added a new website to my portfolio, this time a clean and elegant web design for a cleaning company based in Oxfordshire. The website has been submitted to the search engines and should start to rank over the next couple of days.
Michelle of Oxfordshire Cleaning Company was given my details from Ben of Limitless Outdoors which is always a great thing to be recommended. She is over the moon with her new website and her new logo design. Now the only thing left is to get the website lots and lots of hits.

Warrington Tutor & Just Stilts
I have been working closely with Daniel from Warrington Tutors for the past week or so on his new website, he has gone through a complete re-brand which included a stunning website. I am happy to have worked with Daniel and I am really pleased to add his website to my portfolio.

Total Handling Solutions
Just added the new Total Handling Solutions website to my portfolio, I am really happy with this one. It stands out amongst all the other forklift websites and it makes an instant impact.
It was great working with Bob of Total Handling Solutions, we worked very closely on the project to ensure he was 100% happy with the website. It looks great and it is going to be ranking very highly over the next couple of days.

Bows and Bespoke and Many More
Well yesterday was my mothers Birthday so it was a welcome rest away from the normal, but today I am back in full swing when it comes to web design and search engine optimisation.
I have added the very talented Chantal Tuner's website Bows and Bespoke a website she has had much input into and she has even been learning how to design her own banners so well done to Chantal. She designs and creates beautiful bespoke bows and other girly accessories for all ages.
I am also on the verge of launching another website which is a forklift website which is a really interesting web design to have on my portfolio and something I think will stand out amongst the other forklift websites.
Apart from all the hard work I am also now on Twitter, yes that's right I am on Twitter and I am learning how to tweet. Limitless Outdoors has launched
Really happy to have added Limitless Outdoors to my portfolio, this is a gorgeous website and e-commerce website. They are the UK's only official stockist of Miveu a HD POV iPhone camera that you can attach to your bike or body and film sporting events from a different perspective.
A cool device needs a cool website, the website is responsive which makes the whole website and the user experience much more fluid and in return keeps customers on the website much longer. They are adding more products and are also have athlete reviews so it will be interesting to see how the website and its content grows.
The guys over at Limitless Outdoors are targeting all kinds of shops over the UK including Leigh to stock the Miveu so if you are not interested in one for yourself you may want to sell them?

Updates and what's new!
Whew what a hectic few weeks, I have been hard at work with a few projects one for a seller of a great outdoor pov camera which is looking amazing, another for a great chap with a great idea, another for a young talented lady that makes bows and accessories and last but not least is a site for a good friend who is very demanding... trust me!
Apart from that I have been working on the SEO of both my site and the sites of my clients ensuring we are all benefiting. I am really looking forward to getting all of these new web designs up and on my portfolio, they are all stunning but a few of them are jaw droppingly gorgeous.
I also have a few projects I want to work on for myself, I have been playing around with a idea for a website for a few months now but I have not been able to finalise a few things, if all goes to plan I will look at getting something put together by December and hopefully have some up over the Christmas holidays and then have a big launch of the website for the new year, that's if everything goes to plan.
Well that was one of the bigger posts I have done and I hope I did not bore you with it.

Two new web designs added to my portfolio, one is MJM Landscape and the other Ace Bars & Catering both websites are a great addition to my portfolio so I am really happy with the additions and I will keep the web designs coming!
I am currently working on 3 e-commerce website that I am aiming to get all up and running before the end of the month two of which are really exciting projects and the other is a more typical e-commerce website but looks really cool if I don't say so myself. Anyway that's enough of an update for now I will be posting more updates shortly!

New Creations
Some more updates, I have added a few more creations to my portfolio some of which are amongst my new favourite websites. I have been very active over the past month or so and I have a few more websites coming so watch this space.

InPrint and Design Solutions
Really happy to add another happy customer to my portfolio, this time it is Elaine from Inprint and Design based in Standish, Leigh. She was specific in what she wanted and now it is complete she is really happy with the website.

New Server and Hosting Provider
I have recently switched over my hosting and server to a new company Kualo, this switch will allow me to utilise the latest version of software and also allow for faster loading times and ultimately larger mail servers
This switch benefits all customer who host with myself and is another great addition to my services. This switch will not effect in anyway the costing per annum for hosting so current clients do not have to worry about that.

Busy Busy Making Websites
Well been really busy these last few days hence not updating my tiny little blog, I have got a few big projects on and a few personal projects going on. All will be revealed soon/p>
I have been helping a friend with his website both coding wise and with his SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) so hopefully once that website is done I will add it to my portfolio. Well that's it for now like I have said before keep checking back for updates cause they are coming... honest

Changes to my website
I recently have updated my website and fixed a few glitches, I have now included a price list which is there to give a idea of how much I charge for my services. This of course varies depending on your requirements. I would like to point out that all the websites I design and host will be stored on my server and CDN to ensure extra security and no down time.
